In 1971, as a senior dental student at N.Y.U. College of Dentistry I began practicing acupuncture with a wonderful professor of mine, Dr. Martin Rubin. At that time, President Nixon began his Open Door Policy to China, and the New York Times reporter James Reston wrote about his acupuncture experiences there. This precipitated an interest and popularization of acupuncture in the United States. Through the 70's I practiced both dentistry and acupuncture. In the mid 70's  I began to study with, and have a long and life altering relationship with my teacher Professor J. R. Worsley (U.K.). In the early 80's with the realization that I wanted to expand my knowledge of western medicine, I attended and graduated from State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine (1985). I continue to practice, teach and write about Five Element Acupuncture.
